Advent to Candlemas (Vol. 2)

Miserere Nobis!

Lo! A star shines in the empty sky
lighting the way of strangers three by
laden with gold and anxiety:
Miserere nobis!

See how they bow, then bend the knee
unburdened of their treasury
of cruelty and vanity:
Miserere nobis!

See how they slink away so sly
as soldiers slaughter and mothers cry
craving unknown obscurity:
Miserere nobis!

Lo! A star fades and the empty sky
covers the strangers passing by
laden with guilt and honesty:
Deo Gratias!
