Section 8: VII - St Luke ii

  1. Like coal in light, the sky so bright
    Our sheep froze fast in fear,
    While thunderous sound boomed all around
    So deep and yet so clear:
    "Glory to God" the spirits said,
    "Good news for all the earth"
    Which seemed to be a prophesy
    About a local birth.
  2. Stirred with goodwill we ran downhill
    To find the promised child
    Laid in the straw, that infant poor
    Just as the spirits told:
    Bending the knee His majesty
    Was never so well hid;
    Face to the ground true peace we found
    Just as the Spirits said.
