Eucharistic Meditations

Five

  1. Eucharist sublime that has no equal
Of brutal pain with such a joyous sequel:
No sum could buy the solace we inherit
Less than God's sanction of His Own Son's merit.
  2. This comradeship of equal love is rendered
To all who hear The Word as it is tendered:
Hands scarred with toil stand out in elevation
    In sacrifice indifferent to station.
  3. Unique memorial of Christ's noble passion
    Transcending tracts and intellectual fashion:
For there is nothing if this bread and wine
Are not in Consecration made divine.
