Eucharistic Meditations

Forty One

  1. Robed in the simple guise of bread and wine
My Saviour beckons unreserved to me,
His very Self who died upon the Cross
Is coming to my heart from Calvary.
  2. At times a shepherd, then a perfect lamb,
Sometimes a servant then the Great High Priest,
    Our brother who unquestionably presides,
He is the food and giver of The Feast.
  3. The ultimate in warring joy and pain
Where victory is grained with sacrifice,
Our food and drink along the troubled road,
    Through earthly wilderness to Paradise.
