Ash Wednesday to Pentecost

Resurrection in Christ

  1. Jesus is risen from the dead,
The stone rolled back, the linen neatly rolled,
The towel for his wounded head
Lies spotless as the day that it was sold,
Fulfilment of all He had said
And of the wonders Prophets had foretold:
    Christ is risen!
    He is risen indeed! Alleluia!
  2. The man who treads the morning dew,
Our God, his earthly shape a mere token,
Was God in man whose body knew
Three days ago the pain of being broken,
    Standing alone, condemned but true,
Fulfilling with His death what he had spoken:
    Christ is risen!
    He is risen indeed! Alleluia!
  3. Our risen saviour walks the way,
Our Traveller to Emmaus and our priest,
Our shepherd that we do not stray
    And yet the Lamb we offer at our feast;
This day, the greatest of all days,
Will come into its own when time has ceased.
    Christ is risen!
    He is risen indeed! Alleluia.
