General (Vol. 3)

Courage, My Soul

  1. Courage, my soul,
    Take strength, my faltering heart,
    You will be whole
In faith but not in art:
    The Lord is near
    Though you may falter yet,
    Reckon Him dear
    And He will not forget.
  2. But O how grey
    When gloom is closing in
    To walk the highway
    Leading back to Him:
    How steep the climb
    When strength is fading fast
    To the sublime
    Repose in Heaven at last.
  3. Summon the light
    Of penetrating Grace
    That shines so bright
    In every sorry space:
    Walk with the zest
    The Spirit's power extends,
    And fix upon the rest
    That never ends.
