General (Vol. 2)

The Heavenly Balance

  1. Frail not with age nor time
    But hearts and souls that ache;
    Love never seems to give
    As much as lovers take.
  2. No smile without a tear,
    No joy without its pain;
    The former fly away,
    the latter still remain.
  3. But in Your love for us
    The heavenly balance shifts:
    the infinite is exchanged
    For our flawed, meagre gifts.
